The Abyss Gazes Into You

A Tome about Otherworldly Entity

I never had a concussion before, but I immediately suspected that this is what it would feel like. I could detect the rupture of delicate strands of blood vessels inside my skull. Was that fire I could smell? I knew that tiny bits of my mind had gone dark. Memories stolen; skills forgotten. A simple gaze was all it took.

The entity is nearly indescribable. It had no set definition; it constantly shifted and surged. Not only that, the dark masses of its being seemed to move in and out of reality. If there was one detail my damaged brain could hold onto was the eyes. There were so many eyes of all shapes and sizes and they all pierced me with their steely gaze.

Oddly, my mind began to fill with new passages. At first, I suspected it was gibberish produced from my dying grey matter. But slowly, I recognized patterns and phrasings. My mouth moved inconjunction with these words, and a frail sound came out of me. "Ia, Ia, Yog-Soggoth", I horsely whispered.

Was I being reprogrammed? Repurposed? As my chanting grew louder, I felt my ego flickering out. I had but one purpose now. To chant, to sing, and to serve the Otherworldly Entity.
